Melbourne City

Formed 2008 as Melbourne Heart and granted entry to the 2010-2011 A-League season which was their only appearance in the finals.

On January 23 2014 they were taken over by The City Group, the owners of Manchester City for a fee of about $11 million. On June 5 2014 they changed their name to Melbourne City and also changed their Home colours from Red and White to Sky Blue to fit in with their parent club.

Background
